Anagram is a multi-award-winning creative studio who create thought-provoking interactive storytelling and immersive design experiences.

Mailing lists and professional contacts

We send out newsletters and emails to keep our network informed of our work and productions. We collect your name and email address for this purpose either directly from you when you join the mailing list or from publicly available sources where you are a professional contact. We process this data on the basis of your consent where you join the mailing list or on the basis of our legitimate interests where you are a professional contact. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing through the link provided in our emails to you or by emailing hello@weareanagram.co.uk.

Social media

We have a presence on social media platforms including X and Instagram. Our website includes links to these external platforms, which may process your data and use cookies or similar technology. Anagram cannot control the way external websites process your personal data. Questionnaires, competitions, audience evaluation forms

From time to time, we may ask for your name, age, gender, occupation, and email address to help understand our audience better. You can withdraw your consent by emailing hello@weareanagram.co.uk to have any personal data deleted.

VR store reviews (such as Meta Quest, Steam, Viveport, Pico)

When you post publicly on external stores where our experiences are available, the personal data you post, including your username and other information about yourself, are publicly accessible. We may use your username and review for marketing purposes.

Impulse MR app on store (such as Meta Quest, Steam, Viveport, Pico)

We use hand tracking and room mapping during the experience. This data is used during the app experience only and is not stored further. No user data from in-app activity is collected directly from Anagram.

Goliath VR app on store (such as Meta Quest, Steam, Viveport, Pico)

We use hand tracking and the microphone during the experience. This data is used during the app experience only and is not stored further. No user data from in-app activity is collected directly from Anagram.

Data retention

In general, our retention policy is to keep personal data only for as long as required to fulfil the purpose it was collected for. At the end of this period we will either delete or irreversibly anonymise the data. Sensitive data

We do not directly collect any sensitive data (or “special category data” as defined in EU law) through the activities set out in this Policy.

How we use your information

We collect your email address via the sign-up form our websites, or via paper feedback forms where you have opted in to receive updates from us via email. We only hold email addresses in our database for people who have previously opted in to be contacted by us regarding the following:

  • General announcements about Anagram as an organisation
  • Announcements specific to a project or piece of work that Anagram is making
  • Opportunities to get involved with the work that Anagram is doing

In addition to marketing communications, we also process personal information in the following ways that are within our legitimate organisational interests:

Marketing

We aim to communicate with you about the work that we do in ways that you find relevant, timely and respectful. For email communications, we use your opt-in consent to be contacted in this way as a legal basis (for example, when you join our mailing list on our website). We will give you an opportunity to opt out of receiving our email communications every time we contact you. Alternatively, you can use the contact details at the end of this policy to let us know if you no longer wish to hear from us.

Third Parties

Under no circumstances will we ever sell personal data to anyone. There are certain circumstances under which we may disclose your personal information to third parties. These are as follows:

  • We may share reports about audience behaviour within our projects in anonymised form with our commissioners, partners and general audiences to share industry learning and best practice. Such reports will use anonymised data only.

When you visit our website, we use cookies to collect information about the Internet protocol (IP) address of the computer accessing the site, the browser software and operating system that the computer uses, and the Internet address (URL) of any outside website from which you were directed. We use this information to monitor and protect websites against malicious traffic and to collect analytical data in order to understand how users engage the information we provide. We only deploy non-essential cookies on the basis of your consent.

Google Analytics

Anagram’s website uses Google Analytics cookies to track anonymous usage statistics and does not collect any personal information that can be used to identify you. This data helps us analyse web page usage and improve our website in order to tailor it to our audience needs. Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got there and what you clicked on.
